Mt. Pleasant, Michigan The Ziibiwing Center of Anishinabe Culture & Lifeways will host the Summer Solstice Anishinabemowin Immersion Cultural Teaching & Feast in conjunction with the Grandmothers' Petroglyphs Cleansing Ceremony on June 21 from 11am-3pm.
Attendees can expect to see and be a part of Anishinabek culture and history. Water teachings, petroglyph interpretations, medicinal plant identification, a feast bundle, and the Anishinabe language will all be present at this year's Summer Solstice. All guests should bring their own lawn chair and be dressed appropriately; women must wear long skirts. There will be a shuttle bus to the petroglyph cleansing in Sanilac County provided through the Ziibiwing Center of Anishinabe Culture & Lifeways. The Ziibiwing Center of Anishinabe Culture & Lifeways in Mount Pleasant, Mich. is the Midwest's Premier American Indian Museum.
