History of Youth LEAD

The idea of Youth LEAD came about as a need to consolidate youth services in order to increase collaboration, reduce duplication of services, and to provide a more focused approach to youth programming. In order to do just that, five teams from four departments were consolidated to form the new Youth LEAD Department: Behavioral Health Prevention, Education: K12, Education: Higher Education, At Large: Youth Coordinator, and Parks and Recreation. The programs were then reorganized to form three teams within Youth LEAD: Leadership, Activities and Diversion.
