The annual Veterans Feast will take place on Nov. 10 at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort

The Anishnabe Ogitchedaw Veterans and Warrior Society will be hosting its annual Veterans Feast on Nov. 10 at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort while honoring Native Americans who answered the country's call in World War II.

During World War II, more than 44,500 American Indians served in uniform, which represented about 10 percent of the total Native American population. This was the largest percentage of any group of people who served in the military.

Over 800 Native American women served in the Women's Army Corps (WACS), Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES), Women's Marine Corps and Army Nurse Corps.

The annual event is tentatively slated to begin at 6 p.m.
