As of the Sept. 10 voter registration deadline, 493, or 69 percent, of the 716 total enrolled District 1 members are eligible to vote. District 2 (Saganing) has 31 registered voters, representing 74 percent of the 42 enrolled members. Of the 1,394 District 3 (At-Large) members, only 726, or 52 percent, are eligible to vote in the primary election. On Sept. 25, an official candidates list will be posted.

The Tribal Clerk's Office is in the process of mailing the membership their voter registration cards. This piece of identification, along with a state driver's license or state identification card, is needed in order to be eligible to cast a ballot in District 1.

"It's up to the individual to make sure they are registered voters," stated Tribal Clerk Terri Rueckert. "If there are any questions, we encourage them to contact the Clerk's Office for assistance."

Members with questions about the electoral process can contact the Tribal Clerk's Office at (989) 775-4054.
