In recognition of Veterans Day, the Anishnabe Ogitchedaw Veterans and Warrior Society will conduct their annual feast on Nov. 8 at the Soaring Eagle Resort.

The Veterans Feast is slated to take place at 6 p.m. in the Soaring Eagle Ballroom and will honor those who served during the Vietnam War.

The war, which lasted from 1955-1975, escalated from a Vietnamese civil war into a limited international conflict and did not end-despite peace agreements in 1973-until North Vietnam's successful offensive in 1975 resulting in South Vietnam's collapse and the unification of Vietnam by the North.

"On Nov. 8, we will pause to remember and give thanks to those warriors who are here and those who have passed on," stated Okima I Harold Gould.
