Boozhoo, Tribal Members!

On behalf of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Council, I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for your support of our administration over the last two years.

It is an honor to serve our people and to be entrusted to serve as your Tribal chief has truly been a blessing and a challenge. For those who have served in leadership positions within our Tribe, they are aware of the challenges of maintaining the quality programs and services our Tribal membership expects.

Our Tribe has continued to fortify our business interests and we maintain an important role in federal, state, local and Tribal issues across the political landscape. Closest to my heart, however, has been the stories of how families have benefited and have come together through the prosperity of our Tribe.

As I step down from the leadership position of Tribal chief into another role on Tribal Council, my prayers are one of unity.

Unity will make our Tribal Nation strong. Unity will bring us together so the healing of our families can move forward. Unity allows our government and business interests to respect a different point of view and to embrace each other even when we disagree.

Tribal Council is gearing up for our yearly "State of the Tribe" address and we look forward to seeing all Tribal members 18 and older at the next community meeting slated for Sunday, Jan. 29 at the Soaring Eagle Entertainment Hall. Doors will be open at noon with dinner at 1 p.m. and presentation beginning at 2 p.m.

Once more it was an honor to serve as your Tribal chief. Until we meet again, may our Creator continue to rain blessings upon all of us!

Miigwetch!
