Semi-annual hydrant flushing to take place Oct. 3-7 on Reservation

Observer Staff

9/19/2005 12:00:00 AM

Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe Water Plant Maintenance staff will be flushing the hydrants the week of Oct. 3-7.

Individuals may want to avoid washing white clothes during business hours, as flushing of the hydrants disturbs any sediment that has built up in the water mains. The sediment may stain white or light colored clothing.

The semi-annual project will be completed as quickly as possible. Patience and understanding are appreciated during this time.

It's also that time of year to avoid frozen water lines, so check pipes for heat tape and replace tape if it is not working.

If you do not have any heat tape, you may want to install it to exposed lines.

Questions may be directed to the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe Water Department at (989) 772-8810.
