District 1 seat filled

Brenda Champlin will represent District 1 on Tribal Council as the result of a Nov. 5 special election.
Champlin garnered 116 of the votes cast-seven more than second place finisher Federico Cantu. Of the 740 eligible voters, 348 participated or 47 percent.
Results of the election are as follows: Champlin, 116; Cantu, 109; Delmar Jackson Sr., 43; Carol Shanks, 27; Dolly Rueckert Sr., 18; Terry L. Bonnau, 12; and Craig
Graverette, 7.
The District 1 vacancy was created when Maynard Kahgegab Jr. was removed from office on June 2.
