Women Circle
The philosophy of the “Women's circle” is to broaden the traditional cultural knowledge of the women’s role in the Anishinabe community through the practice of our beautiful artwork. While nurturing each other in a changing world we want to mentor our understanding of the medicines to each other, as we week balance in our own lives. We encourage youth and elders alike to join us in spiritual gatherings as we strive to respect and accept teachings. We encourage each other to seek physical and spiritual balance through making healthy decisions for ourselves. As we learn from our past we continue our ancestors’ legacy.

Why we gather…..
The opportunity for traditional and cultural gathering of women is very important for an individual to be able to better understand the roles and responsibilities of the Native American woman today.
The roles and responsibilities of the Native American woman are being taught by utilizing their own life experiences to enhance the women’s circle as well as guest speakers.
The women have developed a sense and feeling of pride in them selves, while enhancing traditional life skills through group gatherings.
The area of focus is to raise awareness of the dangers of drug use and the benefits of constructive behavior, and promote good parenting skills and strengthen the family as the first defense against drug abuse.
