COMPO JR., PETER ANTHONY Age 44; of Mt. Pleasant; passed away Monday, October 24, 2016 at Mid Michigan Medical Center in Midland.

Funeral Services for Pete will be held at Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribal Gym on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Denver Township Cemetery. A Luncheon will take place back at the Tribal Gym following the committal service. The family will receive friends at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, October 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and also one hour prior to the funeral service at the Tribal Gym. Memorial contributions may be made to a memorial fund for Pete’s children. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the gym.

Pete was born on June 24, 1972 in Lansing, MI, the son of Peter Anthony Compo Sr. and Catherine Louise Jackson. Pete graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1990. Pete was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, and worked as a security guard at Soaring Eagle Casino for many years. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Most of all, Pete loved spending time with his kids and family.

Pete is survived by his long time partner Kalli Stephens; four children Jena Compo, Naomi Compo, Anthony Green, Monica Compo; granddaughter Anavey Compo-Alaniz; mother Catherine Jackson all of Mt. Pleasant; brothers Lawrence Compo of Oklahoma, Bradley Compo (Shannon Butzin) of Mt. Pleasant, Jordan Teeple (Angie) of Hannahville, MI, and Michael Jackson of Mt. Pleasant; sisters Rachel (Louis) Cuff of Grand Rapids, Sasha Compo-Paz (Nathan) of Hannahville, MI, Michelle Jackson of Mt. Pleasant; special cousin Bernice Henderickson of Mt. Pleasant; and many other extended family members.

Pete was preceded in death by his father and niece Catherine Sprague.
