Request for Proposals: Biological Inventory
9/16/2016 1:00:00 PM - Planning

The Tribe will be hiring consultants to conduct baseline biological inventories in order to document species presence on prioritized Tribal lands.  This project will continue through the 2017 field season, remote desktop work is expected to begin this fall.  Attached are maps indicating prioritized properties (Phase I) for Isabella, Arenac, and Iosco County, MI.

Inventories we wish to have conducted on these properties include:

Natural Community inventory and mapping (remote)

Vegetation surveys (wetland/upland)

Herpetefauna surveys

Bird surveys (breeding season)

Bat surveys (acoustic monitoring)

Vernal pool inventory

Rare species as needed

Along with species inventory, the Tribe is requesting that the consultant provide training opportunities for a Tribal biological technician during survey periods in order to develop Tribal capacity within the growing Natural Resources Program.  Lastly, we request that a Tribal Conservation Plan be developed at the conclusion of the project, more information included in the attached document.

As stated in the RFP, bid packages will be due on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 3:00pm.
