VASQUEZ, TAYLOR "KOOK" JORDAN. Age 27, of Mt. Pleasant Passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016.

Funeral Services for Taylor will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Gym with Rev. Owen White-Pigeon officiating. Interment will take place in Chippewa Township Cemetery. A Luncheon will follow Graveside Services in the Tribal Gym. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, and from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to a fund for his son, Miles Taylor Vasquez. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the Tribal Gym.

Taylor was born on January 7, 1989, the son of Terry Francisco Vasquez and Candace (Chippewa) Benzinger. He was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. Taylor had worked for the Nimkee Clinic in maintenance, Northland Electric, Central Ceiling and Partition, and the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe Summer Youth Program. Taylor enjoyed detailing cars, watching motocross and hockey. He loved spending time with his brothers and sisters, but the heart and soul of his life was his son Miles.

Taylor is survived by his son Miles Taylor Vasquez and Miles' mother, Rachel House of Mt. Pleasant; his parents, Terry F. Vasquez of Mt. Pleasant and Candace and Jason Benzinger of Mt. Pleasant; his grandparents Donald and Leigh Chippewa, Sr. of Mt. Pleasant, Frank Vasquez, Jr., Beverly Ann Vasquez of Mt. Pleasant and Step-grandmother Gayle Benzinger of Murfreesboro, TN; brothers Andrew Vasquez, Jeffery Vasquez, Peyton Vasquez, and Presley Lee Vasquez, all of Mt. Pleasant; sisters Izabella Benzinger, Audrey Elliott, Natasha Elliott, and Brooke Vasquez, all of Mt. Pleasant; niece Ayla Elliott-Pelcher; and several loving aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.

Taylor was preceded in death by his grandmother Karen Lee Chippewa and step-grandfather John Dale Benzinger.
