Chippewa River E.coli levels have dropped since last week.

E. coli levels on the Chippewa River were sampled at School Rd bridge crossing, Meridian Park, Chip-A-Waters Park, and Chippewa Rd bridge crossing on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. The results are as follows:

School Rd bridge crossing:
Daily Geometric Mean: 35
30-Day Geometric Mean: 116

The mean E.coli level at School Rd bridge crossing of 35 is currently below 300, the State of Michigan Water Quality Standard for Daily Geometric Mean. The 30–Day Geometric mean of 116 is currently below 130, the State of Michigan Water Quality Standard for 30-Day Geometric Mean.

Meridian Park:
Daily Geometric Mean: 96
30-Day Geometric Mean: 196
The mean E.coli level at Meridian park of 96 is currently below 300, the State of Michigan Water Quality Standard for Daily Geometric Mean. The 30–Day Geometric mean of 196 is currently above 130, the State of Michigan Water Quality Standard for 30-Day Geometric Mean.

North Branch Chippewa River near Meridian Road
Daily Geometric Mean: 586
The mean E.coli level at Meridian of 586 is currently above 300, the State of Michigan Water Quality Standard for Daily Geometric Mean.

Daily Geometric Mean: 286
30-Day Geometric mean: 923
The mean E.coli levels at Chip-A-Waters Park of 286 is currently below 300, the State of Michigan Water Quality Standard for Daily Geometric Mean. The 30–Day Geometric mean of 923 is currently above 130, the State of Michigan Water Quality Standard for 30-Day Geometric Mean.

Based on this data, School Rd  does not exceed State of Michigan water quality standards for full body contact. North Branch of Chippewa River, Meridian Park, Chipp-A-Waters, and Chippewa Road bridge crossing DO exceed the State of Michigan water quality standards for full body contact.
