Traditional Teaching in Saganing will take place on Wednesday, January 6th  from 11 am to 1 pm at the Tribal Center.

 

There will be a Baby Celebration at 7th Generation on Wednesday, January 6th starting at 5:30 pm.  Guest speaker is Kathy LeBlanc.

 

A community conversation will take place at Ziibiwing on Thursday, January 7th, 6 pm for a commemorative art installation entitled Walking With Our Sisters.

 

Language Bingo will be on Thursday, January 7th from 1 pm to 3 pm with Sarnia elders in attendance at Andahwod.

 

Jake & Mary Pine, Traditional Healers, will be at 7th Generation on Thursday & Friday, January 7 & 8th.  Please call 775-4787 to make an appointment. 

 

Join Saganing for Soup Day on Friday, January 8th at the Tribal Center from noon to 1 pm.

 

Andahwod will have a Elvis Birthday Party starting at 1 pm on Friday, January 8th with a best Elvis & Lisa Marie costume contest. 

 

Fitness Resolution Incentive Program begins at Nimkee Fitness on Monday, January 11th and ends on February 5th

 

Saganing will have a Blood Drive on Monday, January 11th from 7 am to 6 pm at the Tribal Center. 

 

All SCIT Tribal Member Elders from all districts can enjoy Elder’s Breakfast on Wednesday, January 13th & 27th  at Andahwod from 9 am to 10 am.

 

Saganing will have a Winter Feast on Thursday, January 14th at the Tribal Center from 1 pm to 3 pm. 

 

Donnie Dowd, Traditional Healer, will be at Behavioral Health for Healing appointments on Thursday, January 14th from 10 am to 4 pm and a traditional sweat on Friday, January 15th from 2 pm to 4 pm.

 

The Tribal Observer deadline for the February issue is Friday, January 15th at 3 pm.  Valentine’s Day messages should be submitted by 5 pm.

 

Saganing will host Bingo with Friends at their Tribal Center on Tuesday, January 19th from 10:30 am to 2 pm.

 

Women’s Support Group meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at Behavioral Health.  Dinner, childcare and transportation provided – next meeting is January 19th.

 

A Winter Feast will take place at 7th Generation on Wednesday, January 20th from 5:30 pm to 7 pm. 

 

A Financial Workshop will take place on Thursday, January 21st at the Housing Conference Room starting at noon with lunch. 

 

State of the Tribe Address will be held on Saturday, January 23rd at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort Entertainment Hall.  Must have Tribal ID and be 14 years of age or older.  Doors open at 9 am. 

 

Ziibiwing will host a lecture on the Cranbrook Institute of Science on Saturday, January 30th from 1 pm to 2 pm. 

 

Tribal Children’s Welfare Program Affidavits are available in the Tribal Clerk’s Office.  The deadline is  Monday, February 29th at 5 pm.

 

The Tribal Clerk’s Office will be closed every Friday for walk in/desk services for Administrative Office Day starting in February. 

 

Attention Adult Tribal Members – Migizi Economic Development Company has one vacancy on its Board of Directors.  Letters of Intent will be received until Friday, March 11th.

 

Parenting Classes for parents, guardians, grandparents, teachers of children 0-6 years old -  Love and Logic every Tuesday afternoon at Nimkee Public Health from 3 pm to 5 pm. 

 

Nimkee Clinic laboratory and pharmacy are open at 7:30 am – 5 pm M,W,T & F and OPEN until 7 pm on Tuesdays

 

Al-Anon meetings are held every Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Behavioral Health.

Struggling or need support?  Residential Treatment Center –Behavioral Health is now offering drop-in relapse prevention groups twice a week.  Mondays - 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Fridays - 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 

The Seventh Generation Program has a sacred fire lunch every Thursday from 11 am to 1 pm at the Elijah Elk building on the corner of Remus and Shepherd roads.

 

Anishinaabe Ogitchedaw Veterans Society meets the first Tuesday of the month in the Senior’s Room of Tribal Operation from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

 

Enjoy Open Gym on Wednesdays at the Tribal Gym from 6 pm to 9 pm.

 

Women’s Traditions is held at Behavioral Health on Mondays from 5 pm to 6:30 pm.

 

Keyboarding and Learnkey is held on Tuesday from 2 pm to 4 pm and on Friday from 10 am to noon at the IT department. 

 

Free septic pump & sewer check for Tribal Members who live in Indian Health Service area.  Please call (989) 775-4014 to schedule an appointment.
