5/6/2022 8:47:00 AM - Public Relations

Today we observe Missing or Murdered Indigenous Persons Awareness Day, and we remember these victims and their families, and commit to working with Tribal Nations and Native communities to achieve justice and healing.  The Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Council received a gift from the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians today that recognizes the concerns regarding Murdered and Missing Indigenous People in Indian Country.  “”Our Tribal Council will stand with our families and leaders of the Gun Lake Tribe to support efforts of awareness and justice of murdered and missing indigenous people,” Tribal Chief Theresa Peters-Jackson said.  “These issues and concerns are important to our Saginaw Chippewa Tribal members and Council will proudly fly this gift of awareness at our Tribal Government building.”
