SAWMICK, ZACHARY “ZMAN” PAUL, age 62, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Alma.

Funeral Services for Zach will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, January 14, 2022, at 3 p.m. with Rev. Doyle Perry officiating. A luncheon will be held at Reflections Reception Center immediately following the funeral services. Interment will take place at a later date in the spring at Denver Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.

Zach was born January 14, 1959, in Northport, Michigan, the son of George and Elsie (Wasquam) Sawmick. He was a proud member of Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. Zach worked for many years in construction. He loved listening to blues music, chasing women, and was known for his red Corvette. His favorite pastime was hanging with his granddaughter, Alexandria.

Zach is survived by his son, Adam Sawmick of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren Alexandria and Gaaskiza; brothers Jeremy Sawmick of Mt. Pleasant, Danny (Margo) Sawmick of Canada; sisters Yvonne (Bruce) Dyer of Grand Rapids, Michelle Sawmick of Holland; and nieces and nephews.

Zach was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Alexandria; brothers Ralph and Jonas; and sisters Mona and Gladys.
