Samson Sawmick, 67, of Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Colorado Springs, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021, at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland. Samson was born October 11, 1953, in Northport, Michigan, son of the late George Aaron and Elsie Martha (Wasaquam) Sawmick. He graduated from Northwest Indian Bible School in 1972. He hitch-hiked his way to Colorado, with his longtime friend Lou Sprague, where he absolutely loved living with its beautiful mountains. He also enjoyed golfing, watching the cooking show with Gordon Ramsey, and was extremely fond of his mother. Samson is survived by his siblings, Yvonne (Anthony) Dyer of Grand Rapids, Daniel (Margo) Sawmick of Ontario, Canada, Zachariah Sawmick of Mt. Pleasant, Jeremy (Shawn) Sawmick of Mt. Pleasant, and Michelle (Jose) Pena of Holland; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Ramona Rodriquez, Gladys Hall, Ralph Sawmick, and Gregory Sawmick. Samson's funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, at Charles R. Lux Family Funeral Home with Pastor Doyle Perry officiating. Burial will be in Denver Township Cemetery.
