Important Information Regarding Granger Operations During COVID-19
5/1/2020 1:30:00 PM - Planning

We know that waste collection is an essential service that is important to health and safety. We are doing our best to continue providing this service, but doing so does put our associates at risk. We've tried to limit that risk as much as possible by putting some operational changes in place. A review of what's changed follows.

COVID-19 Collection Guidelines

·     Until further notice, our associates will not be picking up any trash or recycling that is not appropriately contained.

·     Trash must be in a bag to be picked up and should also be in a cart whenever possible.

·     All recycling must be in a cart or tub to be picked up.

·     Blue bag recycling customers must have all their recycling in blue bags, and bags should be placed in their carts whenever possible.

·     No loose cardboard will be collected.

·     We have suspended collection of bulk items (furniture, appliances, etc.) until further notice.

Facility Changes/Guidelines

·     Until further notice, we will not be accepting walk-in customers for payments or other business at our Payment Center on Wood Road. Payments may be made online here, through the mail or by phone at 1-888-947-2643.

·     All Granger Disposal Centers will remain open during normal business hours. Until further notice, we will only be accepting credit cards (no cash or checks) for payment at Disposal Centers.

·     Granger Recycling Center in Jackson will be closed until further notice.

·     Granger Recycling Center in Lansing remains open.

·     Though some Granger facilities are open during this time, we ask that customers please observe all safety guidelines while visiting and consider limiting their visits to essential business.

We hope you will help us by following these guidelines and not asking our associates to make exceptions for you. Our associates are service-oriented people, and it is difficult for them to make these changes, but it is what they are being instructed to do by our leadership in order to keep them safe. Please don't make it more difficult for them.

This information was current as of Friday, May 1. We encourage you to follow our Facebook page here or visit the COVID-19 page on our website for updates.

We appreciate all your support and everything you are doing to keep our associates safe while they provide this essential service.
