6/19/2018 3:25:00 PM - Behavioral Health

Due to unforeseen circumstances our Monthly FAN forum will be Cancelled for Thursday June 21st at 7p.m.  Our monthly business meeting will still take place at Ziibiwing starting at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday June 21st.  One of the main topics is going to be on disbandment, the big question is are we effective in this community.  F.A.N. is Non-Profit Organization,  which currently has 20 chapters throughout Michigan and the first out of state chapter in North Carolina.  FAN which stands for Families Against Narcotics is an Organization that was meant to educate communities on the dangers of prescription drug abuse (painkillers).  FAN was established based on helping those seeking recovery, those that are in recovery, family members that had been affected by addiction and community supporters.  One of the goals of FAN was to change the face of addiction, and to rid the stigma of addiction, and educate communities.

The PURPOSE Raise awareness to the dangers of Prescription Narcotics.

Support those affected by Narcotic Addiction.

Erase the Stigma of Addiction

This meeting is open to anyone in the community, and could use much support if we are to continue.  If you or anybody you know are interested please attend the meeting this Thursday at 5:30p.m. at the Ziibiwing Center.  Again if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call Catherine Bouchard @ (989)775-4818, Guadalupe Gonzalez @ (989)775-4123 or Dawn Morrow @ (989)444-2657.
