Jason Quigno from Mt. Pleasant MI, born 1975 in Alma MI, is a Saginaw Chippewa tribal member. He works in various types of stone ranging from very hard granite to soft soapstone. From these materials he creates simple flowing organic forms, many pieces represent the stories of the Anishinaabek People. Telling the stories of the Anishinaabek is one of Jason's main missions as a sculptor, he believes it is very important to put the stories into stone so they will be here for hundreds and thousands of years from now.

Jason has won many awards for his work and is part of many public and private collections around the country. At the age of 14 Jason took a sculpture class in 1994 with Dnenis Christy and Dan Mena then moved on as Dan Mena's apprentice for a couple years. Currently living in Grand Rapids MI Where his studio, asinaabe Studios, is located Jason is working on 3 monumental projects for upcoming exhibitions later this year.
