Michael Fisher is the Water Resources Technician. He assists the Water Quality Specialist to preserve, protect, and manage all tribal surface water. Michael spends the majority of spring and summer implementing the Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) by scientifically monitoring water quality within reservation boundaries. He is responsible for collecting and analyzing all water quality samples, including E. coli with the help of a team of interns from the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College. After sampling season, Michael is responsible for statistical analysis of all data and compiling this information into the Water Quality Assessment Report. All data collected by SCIT is uploaded to EPA’s Water Quality Exchange (WQX).

The Water Quality Program is proud to participate in many community events, especially when there is an opportunity to educate people on the responsibility we all share in protecting water resources. The team has delivered presentations to a variety of audiences, and the program has educational material appropriate for all ages. If you wish to schedule an event or if you are interested in learning more about our education and outreach programming, please feel free to contact Michael.
