Ojibwe Bilingual Program

Our Mission

The Ojibwe Bilingual program consists of a Certified Fluent Ojibwe Language Instructor. The program strives to provide a unique bilingual/bicultural education. The program is designed to ensure that the seven generations hereafter will attain, regain and maintain the Ojibwe Anishnaabe language. It will enhance students' cultural awareness through the incorporation of culturally-relevant resource materials. This assures cultural survival and sovereignty. It will also lead to a greater understanding and appreciation of the students' culture. With the students learning their Native tongue and living the beliefs, values and traditions, they will gain a more positive sense of identity, be physically fit, and learn the traditional health practices to maintain a balance in mind, body and spirit. This program ensures the incorporation of the aboriginal perspectives of the Anishnaabe language. The program serves the community at all age levels, from preschool to adult.
