Aabizikaawin Alternative and Adult Education
Alternative Education Mission
The dictionary defines alternative as "something which can be chosen in place of something else." Students choose to come here because they realize the value of a solid education but have not been successful with conventional choices offered through the public school system. Our school offers students an opportunity to learn at their own pace, in their own style, while accomplishing the more traditional goal of graduating from high school. Emphasis is placed on meeting the individual needs of each student, which adds to the level of achievement, builds self-confidence and leads to an overall positive learning experience. Small class size and individualized instruction enhance the experience and build a sense of community and belonging. Our mission as a community education system is to ensure that students learn the skills, gain the knowledge and develop the attitudes to realize their full potential and become productive members of the tribe and society.
